Biography:
Hisashi Mitsui is a character from the popular basketball-themed anime series, Slam Dunk. He first appears in episode 27 of the anime.
Initially a promising junior high school basketball player, Mitsui earns MVP honors and leads his team to victory thanks to a crucial play facilitated by Coach Anzai. He is so grateful, and wants to join the high school team that Coach Anzai is the coach for to play for him. After suffering a debilitating knee injury and feeling abandoned by Anzai, Mitsui abandons basketball, becoming a delinquent.
He later resurfaces as the leader of a gang, attempting to sabotage the Shohoku High School basketball team. Through a dramatic confrontation and Coach Anzai's intervention, Mitsui rediscovers his love for basketball. He rejoins the Shohoku team, determined to make amends for his past actions. He wears the jersey number and specializes in three-point shots.
